Uniqlo has remodeled the second floor of its Manhattan flagship on Fifth Avenue, including the “Starbucks Experience,” a full-service coffeehouse. The renovation is part of Uniqlo’s launch of SPRZ NY, a new global project inspired by modern-day famed and influential artists. The project will feature a number of specially designed items such as T-shirts, outerwear, innerwear and more, as well as a collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). The biggest Forever 21 store in Asia

Forever 21 has been expanding in Japan ever since last year’s opening of their first Tokyo location in Harajuku. Their newest store is the massive Forever 21 Shibuya, located in the old HMV building. Forever 21 Shibuya held its grand opening on December 23rd, just in time for Christmas shopping. At six stories tall, Forever 21 Shibuya immediately takes the title of the biggest Forever 21 store in all of Asia.

With over 4,200 square meters of floor space and six floors, Forever 21 Shibuya will stock almost everything for which the fast fashion brand is known. Floors 1-4 are all womenswear – including denim and the Love21 collection. On Floor 5 you’ll find menswear, accessories, and kids clothing. The sixth floor is set aside for shoes and lingerie.

The Myths of Fast Fashion and Infinite Markets

All of us in retail give a lot of mind-share to two companies – Zara and Walmart, for two very different reasons. Zara is, of course, famous for fast fashion – getting product from ideation to stores in less than a month. Walmart is famous because, well, how can you ignore a $400 billion dollar company that wants a share of your customer’s wallet, regardless of who you are, where you are and what you sell? Creating a boutique feel

The new Topshop (London, UK) store in the heart of London’s Knightsbridge will open on May 20th with the latest Kate Moss collection and sneak previews of exclusive collections by some of the capital’s hottest young designers. The 14,000 sq ft store will have a boutique feel, similar to the New York Topshop which opened in the Big Apple last year.
