290 square meters (The Netherlands, Amsterdam) may at first look like a shop but it’s actually a lot more than that. It was founded as 90 square meters by Ido in 2001. Ido wanted to create a space that attracted creative, talented and like-minded people. The basis was a place that would inspire him and where different events could be held like fashion shows, product launches, poetry readings or art shows.
It was a destination store, a place of discovery where you can find a unique selection that reflect Ido’s passion for shoes, clothes, bags, books, music, magazines and art.
April 2008 90 square meters moved to a new location near the flea market Waterlooplein, right in the city centre, and the shop grew into 290 square meters. It is now situated underground in an old bank vault and still a place of discovery.
The shop is where everything comes together. The people, the projects, the ideas and the inspiration.
