To cross the doors of the glass structure on Avenue Georges V is to leave behind the hustle of Paris on a sun-drenched spring afternoon for a world of quiet and calm. The work of architect Philippe Starck, in collaboration with Jean-Paul Gaultier, the space is conceived as a showcase for creative design. From the crystal mirror tables and chairs to the padded ivory taffeta used to make changing rooms appear as the inside of a jewelry box, the effect is a play of light, an ephemeral illusion that conjures up a fairy tale world.
