24 ISSEY MIYAKE

Nendo designed the 24 Issey Miyake store in Tokyo (Japan). They introduced a concept that provides a different platform for displaying constantly changing products. Nendo abandoned the standard hard, flat visual merchandising fixtures in favour of clusters of thin steel rods to create podiums for display. The result is a scattering of grass-like stands with a similarly vague, undefined shape as the bag on show. Supported by points of contact, rather than flat surfaces, the bags should appear to float in the air like flowers in a light breeze, creating the illusion of an interior garden.
